Man, am I tired. :P I guess I gotta stop watching late-night anime on Cartoon Network. Curse you, adult swim! Sigh... But I just can't give it up! Did you know Furi Kuri (FLCL) will start on the 4th??? I'm so excited! That series was really fun and screwy! I'm really curious about how they are going to dub it... because a lot of the jokes were, like... well, related to the Japanese language. Does that make sense? Okay, well, for example, one joke revolves around characters mis-hearing a girl saying "desu" (which pretty much means "it is") because it sounds like "death" (at least when some Japanese say it, hehe). ...does that make sense? Probably not... oh well, I tried. Just watch Furi Kuri! Hey, and when did Big O end on me? Was I not paying attention and it just slipped by? Or was it really just that obscure and weird? And Evan is right and it won't make sense, maybe, until we see the second season...? Oh well... So my weekend was pretty cool. I got to go home to Ohio and see a lot of my family before I head off to Japan. (: There were two "goodbye" parties for me, and I got to see a lot of people I wanted to. And I passed out a lot of business cards! Hehehe. And I played around with my camera a bit. (: It was an all-around nice vacation. Well... adult swim is on... If you can change your encoding, put it on Unicode (UTF-8)... that should do it! (To change your encoding, either right-click, find "Encoding" and select "Unicode UTF-8, or, on the taskbar of the window, click "View" and "Encoding" should be a sub-menu of that, then find "Unicode"! Curse it! It worked before Blogger had to switch over to whatever the heck it was that it switched to or whatever. ANYWAY! :P So I got my last two wisdom teeth pulled today. SUCK. The left side of my jaw aches cuz he had to cut away tissue and stuff... but the right one? He just pushed it around and pulled it out--it took maybe 10 minutes. As he worked on the second one, I just kept shouting (in my head! hehe) to the tooth, "Just come out! Just come out!!" Erghh... I was not looking forward to this, but I am SOOOOO glad it's over! In funner news! I got my digital camera yesterday!! A beautiful Canon PowerShot A70 <3 It's really great, and I can't wait to use it! Well, that is, I have been using it... but not a whole lot. I can't find anything to take pictures of yet! :P Dumb me. Oh well! Oh, and Misha's wedding announcement arrived the other day. (: She hand-wrote them all! I wonder how many there were..? I'm getting tired... what a long day... I went in at three today, and stayed until 10:20... It feels like I was on my feet ALL day. Weird. I'd be nice to not have to do that again! (: It would be better than nothing, though... I had to ask for next Wednesday through Sunday off because I'll be getting my last two wisdom teeth pulled, and then on the weekend Mom, Dad and I will head to Ohio for a little reunion of sorts at Mary Jane's. I'm so glad. (: I missed Mom's family's reunion over the fourth... so hopefully I can see a lot of the people I want to that weekend. It'll be a while before I see any of them again... So I ordered a digital camera through ebay and should have it in a few days. (: I can't wait! I've been looking at getting this specific camera (Canon Powershot A70--hehe) for a few months now. I think it's a really good buy, and I've heard that from family members and store clerks, too. (: I'm sure I'll be happy with my buy. Jeremy recently bought something off ebay as well--a violin. (: I guess he just got really interested in playing recently. (: He's been practicing quite a bit... I wonder how he sounds? (: I can't wait to ask him to play for me when I visit him in Kansas! ...Though... he'll probably ask me to play too, since I once did in grade school. I guess I might still remember a little... I'm sure I'll find out! Whatta bum. So for most of yesterday I was at Vicki Winston's making business cards. I love what we ended up with! (: They are two-sided-English on one, Japanese on the other. I found some nice clip art, too, and I really really like the result. (: I just hope I got all the Japanese correct... heh heh... I was hoping I'd see Mayu online so I could have her check it... Hooray (: Man, I just finished a really good book: Sabriel. Heard of it? Well, I guess it's on the NY bestseller list for young adult fiction. I've been trying to read a lot of these new books for young adults coming out, and I've read some great ones! (: I hope to have a really nice little library in my classroom someday, when I get hired as a teacher--English or not. I also recently finished a much-accalimed series by Phillip Pullman: His Dark Materials. Interesting stuff! Man, I love reading! (: It makes me sad when people see me carrying a book around and make comments like, "Wow! You're reading a book like that 'cause you want to?" My mom said once, that she never thought to tell people who asked that reading was her hobby... because it shouldn't be a hobby! People should just read, right? ...at least, I think so... Even though it's kind of the 5th at the moment... Oh well! And another big "Happy Birthday!" to one of my bestest buddies, Becca. I went to her place today to celebrate, and to join a little 4th of July picnic with her family. It was lots of fun. (: She and some other friends went out to Pontiac to dance at a club... not quite my forte, so I headed home. Oh well... hope they have fun and stay safe. Over the last few weeks I've been reminded of my summer in Japan last year.... this same weekend, one year ago, I was at a little picnic on the front steps of JCMU, celebrating the 4th with a bunch of new friends. Afterwards, we got some fireworks and headed off to the river's edge to fire them off. It's hard to believe that was a whole year ago... I gotta get my journal out and read some of what I wrote. (: And I should look back on my pictures... see what I was up to today, one year ago. Ahhh.. what memories... I've been gone for a bit, but only because Jeremy was visiting for a few days. (: It was so good to see him! We didn't get much time alone... he wasn't here for long, and we were kinda busy... but it was still really nice, nonetheless. I hope I get a nice, long vacation with him in Kansas, when he moves to school. (: I can't wait to see his new place! Ah well... I'm tired now... and I want to read some Harry Potter!
